Joe Tait is a teacher and artist. His foundations are in drawing and painting, with additional studies in Literature, Writing and History. He experiments in Sculpture. Besides his research, life experience and various interests, Joe cites the artists of Weimar Germany as his primary technical inspiration. He also draws energy from German Literature, a taste for the fringes of popular music, and the contemporary graphic novel. Essential to Joe's vision is his breadth of materials and sources, assembled to communicate forcefully while maintaining significance independent of message. Themes that tend to recur center on Joe's American upbringing, military service, and his family's experiences both in the United States and in Germany, particularly during the period of the Third Reich.
