Another assignment from a painting class. This concept dictated the creation of a topographical still life. Joe's mom's old pizza pan provides the ground for the ghosts of long receded speed and drama to play across. An arrangement of relatively simple objects, painted from life, gives them form.

The foundation of Joe's work. In painting, Joe discovered the possibilities for visual communication and the greatest historical inspiration. His canvasses are largely earlier works, though he will return from time to time to paint on panels or found surfaces.
